A division of the national program: www.every15minutes.com |
Since beginning in Arab in 2002, the Marshall County chapter of Every 15 Minutes has grown to emcompass all high schools in Marshall County, becoming the first in the nation to instate the program county-wide. The Every 15 Minutes program was designed to illustrate the effects of drunk driving without the tragic real-life consequences, showing students how their decisions can affect themselves and, ultimately, the lives of others. By reaching out to students at local high schools, we hope to influence the choices they make, not only now, but in the future as well. |

_________________________________________________________ The higher numbers of DUI and substance abuse cases in Marshall County show that our children are at a higher risk than in most other counties in the state. Due to this fact, we were chosen to receive a Prevention Grant from the state of Alabama to help educate our community about these dangers and lower the number of substance-related incidents. However, this grant does not cover the cost of providing the Every 15 Minutes program for our students. Many local business and individuals have come together in donating both time and money to keep this educational experience in our schools.
